Patriot Angels screened us multiple times prior to payment.  This made us feel they were doing their best to assure they would be able to help.  PA provided clear instructions of what was needed and helped with alternatives for procurement.  They responded quickly to questions and were always courteous. I found Patriot Angels very helpful when trying to navigate the paperwork to obtain a VA spouse pension for my mom. I was initially concerned that after we paid the upfront fee we would not hear from PA in a timely manner but that was not the case.  Once the process got started, they were very responsive in reviewing our paperwork and answering my questions. I will say that the client needs to be aware of three things: - 1 - Dealing with the VA takes time (3 months in our case).  Be diligent and patient. - 2 - The client still has to collect all the information (income statements, asset lists, trusts, life insurance cash value, etc).  PA cannot magically do that for you.  PA can only work as fast as you can provide the information. - 3 -  I appreciated the value we received from having PA alongside to answer my questions, review our documents, and work with the VA. Literally unbelievable is what I felt when receiving the documents that my mom was approved for benefits. My mom is 93 years old and her in home care was quickly draining her already limited bank account. I have to be honest. I thought Patriot Angels was a scam when I learned of it. I am embarrassed to say how wrong my natural skepticism was! They were truly angels for me and my mom. She now can stay in her apartment and continue receiving the assistance getting around along with the independence that comes with not having to have family members step in. I would have been waiting months and months and had loads of follow up with the VA if I had navigated this alone and I am an educated corporate professional. This was out of my league. I am ridiculously picky about companies that I contract or with whom I do business. Patriot Angels blew me away at every single step. It is not worth it to manage this yourself even if you have extensive business acumen. This process was made so clear and the speed at which my mom was approved and received her first deposit shattered the speed at which I could have accomplished the same. Patriot Angels is a helpful organization to help facilitate veterans benefits. The process was specific and I was able to gather the documentation quickly with their assistance. The process took about 8 weeks and my mom received her first benefit check the end of May. I probably could have gone through the VA on my own but timing was a concern as my mom is 95.
